TeraFlex is back into the Dana 44 housing market with the release of the new JK 44 housing that was released at SEMA 2012. We’ve made an effort to turn the stock axles’ weaknesses into strengths with the JK 44 housings. Starting with the forged HD Inner Knuckles, these have greater strength and resistance to deflection. No more bent axles at the knuckles with these. TeraFlex uses ¼” thick CNC laser cut brackets for improved mounting strength. They are double the thickness of the flimsy 1/8” stock brackets that were prone to tearing off or bending. With the stock axle tubing having a 2.5” OD, this was also a contributing factor to axle tubes bending. TeraFlex went with a larger diameter tubing of 3.25” x .25” DOM to help eliminate bent axle tubes. TeraFlex’s engineers have completely redesigned the housing center section of the axle. Two inches of length was added to the passenger side of the housing. Resulting in a shorter passenger side tube, this of course decreases leverage and increases resistance to bending. The housing was also designed with an increase in the number and size of center section gussets on both sides. Additional detailed work was done so that factory locker wiring harness and sensor could be installed to these new housing. TeraFlex even added an oil drain plug on the bottom so you don’t have to remove the diff cover for oil changes. To top it off, TeraFlex has a No Excuses 1 Year Warranty along with a Triple-Stage Powder Coating on these.
